Hull KR have activated the one-year extension option in Kane Linnett’s contract which will now keep the Scotland International at Sewell Group Craven Park until the end of 2023.
Since joining the club in 2019, Linnett has been integral to the Robins’ positive progression on the field.
Starting his first year in the centres before later moving into the back-row, the 33-year-old has become one of the Robins’ strike weapons in attack, earning an inclusion in the 2021 Super League Dream Team at second-row.
Now in his fourth season with the Red and Whites, the ‘Big Red Machine’ is a firm fans’ favourite and excited to be continuing his journey with Hull KR:
“I’ve really enjoyed my time here and my family have enjoyed their time here too. It’s really good to be a part of a club that’s moving in the right direction.
And to be a part of that next year, hopefully with me signing on for another year, a few of the other boys who are off-contract will follow.”
Linnett is confident the strong foundations already at Hull KR will stand the club’s new coach in good stead for 2023:
“I had the option in my contract and I’d love to finish here at this club. With what Tony’s built here and the team we’ve got hopefully there are not too many changes. I think the new coach is coming into a club in a good position and we can keep the good times going.
“I said last year that I’ve still got a few years left in me. I’ll be 34 (years old) next year but personally, I know I’ve still got some good footy left in me. I’m looking forward to another year with the club.”
