Kai Pearce-Paul makes promise to Wigan Warriors fans after NRL move is confirmed

Wigan Warriors star Kai Pearce-Paul is set to fulfil a huge ambition of his in 2024 when he joins Newcastle Knights.

It will see him get a crack in the NRL as he begins a two-year deal with the club alongside Huddersfield Giants star Will Pryce who also makes the move.

He joins former Wigan teammate and former Salford Red Devils star Jackson Hastings at the club, as well as ex-Castleford Tigers youngster Bailey Hodgson and of course his England teammate Dom Young.

Understandably excited by his big NRL move which will come at the end of the 2023 Super League season, Pearce-Paul has promised that his focus will remain on Wigan.

As he made an emotional farewell on social media, Pearce-Paul said: “There is a big season ahead and my focus will be here until it is time to move on. Thank you for all of your support and for making me feel so welcome at this amazing club.”

The Warriors are hoping to end a five year wait to lift the title and end St Helens’ monopoly over the trophy.

Pearce-Paul’s promise was echoed by Executive Director at Wigan Kris Radlinski:

“Kai is committed to Wigan for the 2023 season before leaving for Australia at the end of the year. He is an impressive young man who has been a pleasure to work with over the past few years.

“We expect a big year from Kai and then we will wish him well on his new adventure.”
