Junior Moors reveals why he sometimes struggled at Castleford

Castleford Tigers

Junior Moors will be remembered fondly amongst the terraces at the Jungle.

Having joined the Castleford Tigers back in 2015, Moors established himself as one of the most impressive forwards in the game with some bulldozing runs and hard-hitting defence.

And, the Samoan international – who now plies his trade for Castleford’s bitter Yorkshire rivals Featherstone Rovers – has revealed just how good of a move it proved to be.

“I don’t think I ever found my groove until I moved to Castleford,” Moors said on the Talk Your Walk podcast.

“I had a good chat with Daryl Powell and he took me back to why we started playing the game in the first place.”

However, Moors also revealed that during his time at the Tigers, events off the field sometimes made his form on the field drop.

“My partner wasn’t on board at first and she struggled at the start in her first year and that probably is why I struggled a bit.

“The second year she started to pick up and got a core group together and that picked her up in a huge way.

“If she’s happy then I’m happy – there’s definitely a connection between having a happy home life and your form on the field.

“When you get the home right, you are sound on the field.”
