Luke Gale will finally be available for selection for Brett Hodgson’s Hull FC in this week’s fixture against Wigan Warriors.
The halfback and captain has missed the last five games following a huge suspension after a stray leg hit St Helens’ Jonny Lomax in their fixture in round two.
With Gale chomping at the bit on the sidelines, Josh Griffin has been interim skipper during that time, overseeing four wins out of five games.
And, the England international centre reflected on his time as captain on social media giant Instagram, stating: “Bit of RL in the sun.. On to the next round! Been a great experience captaining the side the last few weeks in Galeys absence. Il take 4 out of 5 wins as skip and hand it back over to him.”
Griffin was also reflecting on Hull’s hammering of Sheffield Eagles, 58-12, in the Challenge Cup Sixth Round on Saturday afternoon.
That put the Black and Whites in the hat for the Quarter-Finals with a tie against Huddersfield Giants set up for a fortnight’s time.
Hull will have to travel to the John Smith’s Stadium in a bid to make it to the semi-finals, but with Gale back the experience at halfback has returned.
