Josh Drinkwater says Warrington Wolves signings show Super League attracts top NRL players

Warrington Wolves have been busy in the transfer market trying to respond to their 11th place finish last year with strength.
They have signed Super League stars like Josh Drinkwater from Catalans Dragons as well as NRL stars like former Australian internationals Paul Vaughan and Josh McGuire the latter of which won the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.
In the eyes of Drinkwater, the arrival of these two show the pulling power of Warrington and Super League:
“They could have easily played NRL for a lot more years and decided to come to Super League at a younger age. That’s great for Warrington and great for the competition they can attract players like that who aren’t at the back end of their career,” he said to Sky Sports.
However, it was the signing of Drinkwater’s former Catalans teammates Gil Dudson and Sam Kasiano which made it easier on him:
“Having Dudson and Kasiano already there made it a little bit easier saying ‘hello’ to the boys at training when you first walk in, but I’ve already built good relationships with everyone.”
That said, he feels very welcome at the club:
“All the boys are great, the staff are great, and it is a really good place to be at the moment. I’ve settled quite quickly at training and I’m looking forward to the new season.”
