Josh Charnley sends out key message

With mental health now continuing to take a major foothold in all sporting arenas, rugby league players have often taken it upon themselves to try and get the word out about the importance of talking and checking in with friends and family.

One of those who has done just that in recent days is Warrington Wolves’ Josh Charnley who sent out a heartfelt message on his Twitter profile in a bid to get more people talking.

Charnley wrote: “How’s your Monday been? Have you checked in on someone today to see if they are okay or need anything?”

The Warrington winger recently got married and has been a key part of the Blood Flow Restriction company, Hytro, in recent months in a bid to improve and enhance his recovery ahead of a big season under new boss Daryl Powell.

Charnley was handed the number 2 shirt by Powell ready for the 2022 Super League season, with the winger determined to stake his claim.

The 30-year-old has scored 50 tries in 87 appearances for the Wolves since joining back in 2018 and previously made 171 for hometown club Wigan before leaving for rugby union side Sale Sharks.
