Jon WIlkin says Warrington Wolves star is “unstoppable”

George Williams has started the season brilliantly.

Both Phil Clarke and Ian Watson said that Williams looks like the Man of Steel and he was essential to their comeback win last night against Salford Red Devils.

He scored a superb solo try against the Red Devils to secure the win having created the decisive try for Josh Thewlis.

After the game Jon Wilkin named him as Man of the Match.

He described him as “unstoppable” and “classy.”

However, Williams himself wasn’t as pleased with his performance saying: “We were in a tough spot there, momentum can change pretty quick, I threw the intercept and we could have panicked a bit.

“Credit to Salford, they throw the ball about really well. We made them look good.

“I think so [we would have lost that last year], we had a reminder there, it reminded me of last year. Our middles dug really deep, they were brilliant in defence and we build off our defence.

“Our defence is what we’re about. We’re nowhere near where we want to be. We have three wins but we haven’t been perfect.

“I’m enjoying my rugby. I threw an intercept so I’m not happy with that. We’re playing well and the middles are especially and they help me.

“He’s really good. Sometimes I get bit flustered and I try and play too quick but he is a real calm voice and what we needed.”
