Jon Wilkin says Super League side are “in a big hole”

On Friday night Leeds Rhinos downed Hull FC and looked impressive in doing so and sit inside the top six at the moment.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Jon Wilkin was very impressed by the Rhinos saying of their attack

“Blake Austin has had a night here for Leeds, his hands were on everything and he tore Hull to shreds by being really square and when you have Harry Newman and guys like him on the edge and Nene MacDonald, you are going to cause problems.”

Phil Clarke added: “They are great tries, using the chip and chase for Handley!”

But for Jon Wilkin his questions were all about Hull FC.

He said the club are in a hole and likened watching them to watching a car crash:

“Leeds were great, the question mark, the questions all revolve around Hull FC because watching them is like watching a car crash very slowly.

“You know it’s coming and it’s horrendous but you are sort of watching it through your fingers and that has been Hull for the last three or four years unfortunately.

“Hull FC are in a hole, in such a big hole and I don’t know how they get out of it. They signed loads of players have so much promise and we’re talking about them on Sky and they had a chance and they are in a bad spot and it is going to take hard work, cultural work.

“To repeatedly falter like that there is something isn’t there.”
