Jon Wilkin says he is going to stop calling out this club after fan backlash

Jon Wilkin always has an opinion but that is what makes him a good pundit and gets fans listening to what he has to say.

Wilkin is often critical of sides he feels aren’t where they should be and that is why he has been critical of the Leeds Rhinos of late with the Rhinos having high expectations but aren’t up in the mix at the top of the table.

At the start of the season he said Leeds weren’t a top four side and got some backlash from fans and he referenced that lately saying:

“They are not where they want to be at this moment in time.

“I got criticised and called out by Leeds fans for saying they’re not being quite as good, they have an expectation at this club to be second, third or fourth in the league and they’re not there.”

Brian Carney then chimed in with: “You know the rules, the fans can call them out but you can’t.”

Wilkin then joked: “I’m going to stop doing it. Leeds are brilliant I love them.”

It is interesting to see what kind of journey the Rhinos could go on under Rohan Smith as they look to return to those standards.
