Castleford Tigers took on Salford Red Devils last night at the AJ Bell Stadium in what proved to be a disappointing evening for the West Yorkshire side.

The Tigers were second best throughout whilst Salford were well worth their 30-14 victory and Sky Sports pundit Jon Wilkin made a bizarre claim whilst watching the game live.

Known for his outspoken views, Wilkin believes Castleford do something that not many other teams do.

“I don’t think a team steals the ball as much as Castleford,” Wilkin said.

“Whether that’s tactical or not, they’ve got the smart players there.

“What is there to lose from it on the first tackle? Just have a stab at the ball and see if it comes loose.”

It didn’t work very well for them on Friday night as they couldn’t match the halfbacks of Salford with Marc Sneyd and Brodie Croft running rings around their opposite numbers.

For the Tigers, it was their seventh defeat in 13 games which explains their low position in the Super League table under new head coach Lee Radford.
