Jon Wilkin hits back at being criticised for his harsh assessment of Super League side

It is nearly Easter which means we are fast approaching the first Hull derby of 2023 as part of Rivals Round.

The form is with Hull KR but when asked on Sky Sports if the form book goes out the window in a game like this, Jon Wilkin said:

“I hate that saying, I don’t know if it goes out the window.

“You take so much confidence from your form going into a game like this. I don’t know if it goes out the window but it might evoke an emotional performance from Hull FC who have been as flat as pancake the last couple of weeks.

“It is another reason for them to be good but Hull KR are favourites largely because of Jordan Abdull. When he is playing well they are playing well.”

Wilkin then hit back at criticism he has received about being too harsh on Hull FC.

He said:

“For Hull FC, I get criticised a lot for being harsh on Hull FC but when are you going to get going, when are you going to have a crack.

“As a pundit you want to be patient with teams but when are they going to get going.

“They made some great signings and trust me there is no one Tony Smith and Hull will want to get going in this game more than most.”
