Jon Wilkin and Jamie Jones-Buchanan predict which Super League team will get relegated

With Super League starting tonight, almost everyone is taking a guess at where certain teams will finish.

Most are considering St Helens and Catalans Dragons to be fighting for the Grand Final once more in 2022 whilst Leeds Rhinos are expected to challenge.

At the other end of the table, however, the majority of pundits and fans are going with newly-promoted Toulouse Olympique to succumb to the drop.

For Leeds Rhinos legend Jamie Jones-Buchanan, however, his candidate for relegation hails from West Yorkshire: “Wakefield Trinity. Willie Poching’s men need a great start and a consistently fit team on the pitch,” he told Sky Sports.

“With Toulouse being my surprise package, a slow start might be too hard to make up.”

On the other hand, ex-St Helens and Toronto Wolfpack forward Jon Wilkin predicted Toulouse Olympique to fall back down to the Championship when asked who his pick for relegation would be: “Toulouse Olympique. They’re really running a squad on Championship wages and recruiting for Super League in a three-month window is near impossible.

“Leigh Centurions dredged along the bottom all year in 2021 and it would be sad if Toulouse did the same.”

Who really knows until the final whistle sounds at the end of 2022?
