John Bateman confirms future plans

John Bateman has confirmed he will be a Wigan Warriors player in 2022.

The star second-rower took to Instagram to pay his thanks to the Wigan fans, as well as admit that 2021 was far from the best season to have upon his return.

“Well that’s another season done and dusted,” Bateman said.

“Not how I wanted my first season back in the @wiganwarriorsrl to end but we dust are selfs down and we’ll go again.

“For me to be back home playing in front of my family each and every week makes me proud and Iv absolutely loved it.

“Also to be back in the 🍒⚪️ colours and playing in front of the loyal thanks once again, your (sic) a special group.
Last but not least my teams mates we’ve had are ups and downs this year but we’ll be better for it. All the best to the lads moving on or Retiering (sic) you’ll be missed.

“For now we are done. See you all in 2022 we will be back bigger, better and stronger.

“Thank you all 😘 ”

It comes after Bateman and his partners were practically forced to address the former Canberra Raiders’ future after reports in Australia linked him with a move back to the NRL.
