Joel Tomkins disciplinary hearing delayed

Hull KR captain Joel Tomkins will have to wait for the full punishment of his Grade D charge after both the club and the RFL agreed to delay the disciplinary hearing.

As a result Tomkins will be suspended for this week’s clash against Castleford Tigers with the individual ban being deducted from any additional rulings received next week.

The 31-year-old was cited by the Match Review Panel after questioning the integrity of a match official in last weekend’s defeat against Salford.

If found guilty then Tomkins could face a five-match ban, with the incident on Saturday believed to relate to a disallowed try in the game.

It is expected that the hearing will be held at Red Hall in Leeds on Tuesday 5th March, giving Rovers extra time to review the incident and put forward a potential defence.
