Castleford Tigers have been doing it tough so far in the 2022 season.
With just one win in six Super League games, the West Yorkshire club currently sit second bottom of the league.
However, a Challenge Cup respite was just the tonic, with a 40-16 hammering of local rivals Leeds Rhinos putting an emphatic stamp on the calendar for the Tigers.
And, for new recruit Joe Westerman – who excelled yet again in victory – his head coach Lee Radford wanted him back at the Jungle for one major reason.
“We had a a good pre season, but it was always going to take a little bit of time,” Westerman told the BBC after the game.
We’ve changed a lot of things in attack and defence – we always knew we were going to get there , it’s just taken a little bit longer than we thought.”
Westerman waxed lyrical about his side’s performance against Leeds on Saturday afternoon.
“It’s a good group and we’re working hard away from here.
“We started big against Leeds and I’ve been brought in to make that link between me and Jake Trueman, that’s what Radders brought me in for.
“If you turn up like we did then nine times out of ten you’re going to win.”
