Hull FC have made some exciting signings ahead of 2022.
The Black and Whites have recruited in almost every area of their squad bringing in class in the backs in the shape of Darnell McIntosh, drafting in former Man of Steel Luke Gale into the halves and adding power to the pack in the shape of Kane Evans.
But one of their most exciting signings is hooker Joe Lovodua who will bring electricity and explosivity to the ruck for Hull FC enhancing their attack and making their spine even more formidable.
Settling in well at the club, he has recently spoken to Hull FC’s website about adjusting to England and the difficulties of pre-season training.
Having journeyed over from the other side of the world, he explained how being weeks behind some of his teammates and recovering from the travel made pre-season harder: “The staff have been putting me through my paces on the field and in the gym.
“I haven’t played rugby since the middle of the year. That’s when the competition got cancelled back home in Australia and we went into a strict lockdown, so it’s been tough for me.
“The first few days, considering I was jet-lagged, were really harsh on the body. But I feel like I’m past the worst of it now and I’m getting close to being at peak levels again, which is a credit to the staff for pushing me to get there.”
He also explained his relationship with a couple of his new Hull FC teammates: “I knew Kane [Evans] prior to coming to the club through our connection with the Fiji international team.
“Although I’ve not seen him since I arrived here, I know Josh Reynolds too – everyone knows Grub in Australia.”
All of this has helped him settle into his new club with relative ease even telling the club website that he feels at home: “But it hasn’t taken me long to settle in here. Coming into the squad, there are no big egos in the room. Everyone has been really accommodating and welcoming towards me, which has made me feel really at home.”
