Super League referee quits

Joe Cobb quits

Joe Cobb has retired from refereeing with immediate effect to focus on his legal career.

The 30-year-old becomes the third Super League official to quit in the last 12 months, after George Stokes and Matt Thomason.

Cobb was highly regarded within the RFL and had initially put his other career paths on hold to become a full-time Super League official.

RFL Chief Operating Officer Ralph Rimmer said: “The RFL would like to thank Joe for his efforts. We wish him the best of luck pursuing his professional ambitions.”
