Joe Burgess has been announced as Catalans Dragons’ latest signing with the winger leaving Hull KR after three years at the club.
Burgess linked up with Hull KR ahead of the 2024 season, joining from Salford Red Devils, and he’d spend an incredible three years at Craven Park. Among many notable memories, his try that put the 2025 Grand Final beyond all doubt has been cited as a personal highlight by head coach Willie Peters.
Peters was reflecting on Burgess after Hull KR confirmed that the winger would depart at the end of the 2026 season, and he’s now made the switch to Catalans Dragons.
It means the departing Hull KR man will now link up with the former Hull FC coach John Cartwright, becoming one of three to swap the city of Hull for Perpignan ahead of 2027, alongside FC pairing Amir Bourouh and Arthur Romano.

Hull KR winger Joe Burgess signs for Catalans Dragons
Catalans have confirmed that they have signed Burgess to a two-year contract, meaning the 31-year-old is locked in until the end of the 2028 season.
He becomes the latest English winger to play out of Catalans with past examples including Tom Johnstone, current Hull KR man Tom Davies, and the retiring Tommy Makinson.
An England international Burgess featured in last year’s Ashes and despite the Robins having a dip in form over the 2026 season, Burgess still managed to score 18 tries in 20 Super League games this year – taking his Hull KR tally to 65 in 74.
Speaking on his move, Burgess said: “I’m grateful and excited for the opportunity to join the Catalans Dragons and to do my job in a different country.”
Head coach John Cartwright added: “Joe Burgess is a proven match winner in the super league. A genuine try scorer and try saver who brings experience and speed.”
Burgess is the latest of several Catalans Dragons signings with the club previously confirming Jesse Arthars, Tyson Gamble, Luciano Leilua, Arthur Romano, Amir Bourouh and Luca Walsh as their recruits for 2027.
