Jez Litten identifies one Super League hooker as “the benchmark” for Super League

Warrington Wolves will be the “toughest test yet,” according Hull Kingston Rovers’ Jez Litten.

The Robins travel to the Halliwell Jones stadium this Saturday afternoon for a round five meeting with the Wolves, with the visitors looking for their third straight win.

However, despite losing to the likes of Catalans, St Helens and Castleford earlier on in the league and cup, Litten thinks Saturday will be their biggest challenge so far in 2021.

He said, “Warrington will be our toughest test yet but we are playing good rugby and we will be a good test for them.

“A win would be massive for us, especially to bag three consecutive wins. It is something we are looking to do. We are playing some very good rugby so there is no reason why we cannot get the win.”

In particular, Litten is excited to face England international Daryl Clark.

Litten has high praise for Clark, who has secured over ten caps between England and Great Britain respectively.

“Daryl Clark is the benchmark to live up to,” claimed Litten.

“I used to watch a lot of him when I was younger and just the way he plays, I admire his whole game.

“He backs himself, he is strong, a tough player and it is going to be a massive test for us on Saturday but I am looking forward to it.”

But the big story this week is that former Australian international Greg Inglis will make his debut for the Wolves.

The three time NRL Grand Final winner retired in 2019 before making a sensational return to the sport with Warrington for this season.

He is another big name Litten is excited to go up against but is confident his side has what it takes to spoil the party.

Litten added, “Greg Inglis is a legend. I have watched his highlights as a young kid and you just sit there with your mouth open and wonder how can someone do some of the things what he used to do.

“It will be good. We will have to give him the respect he deserves but not too much as we are there to get a job done.”
