Jesse Sene-Lefao explains the major difference between Castleford and Featherstone

Jesse Sene-Lefao had spent all of his rugby league career in a full-time environment.

That was until he took up a deal with the Featherstone Rovers ahead of the 2022 Championship season.

With a few weeks of pre-season under his belt at his new club, Sene-Lefao has been keen to stress just how different the atmosphere is between a full-time environment and that of a part-time one.

“It’s crazy, it spins my mind,” Sene-Lefao told the Talk Your Walk podcast.

“No disrespect at any level, but I noticed when I was in full-time training you got the odd person saying ‘oh my legs hurt’ and ‘it’s cold outside.’

“But then I get to Fev and we’ve got guys with work boots on all dirty and they are excited to put their rugby boots on and train.

“You rarely hear someone complain about training as they are still working towards their goal and they are grateful to be there.

“It’s the happy part of their day.”

Since then, the Samoan international has shown his admiration for the players who do just that.

“Coming into Fev and stepping into the training paddock, they have a great attitude and are ready to compete.

“It makes me so grateful to be in and around that environment.”
