Jenna Brooks reveals two ex-Super League coaches in the running for Cas job

Last night in Andy Last’s second game in charge of the Castleford Tigers, they came up with their first win of the season.

Last has taken interim control of the Tigers since the departure of Lee Radford after just three games including his worst defeat as Castleford coach which came against Wigan Warriors in Round Three.

Last has been open about wanting to take over as Head Coach on a permanent basis saying on Sky Sports last night:

“I hope so, I really want it. The team showed how much they wanted me to get a win. I am experienced, I have done the assistant coach for a while, I am desperate to take over and hopefully if we can have a few more performances like that I can lead this club moving forward.”

However, also on Sky Sports Jenna Brooks revealed that former Hull KR boss Justin Morgan is still in the running for the role whilst former Grand Final winner with Leeds Rhinos Danny Ward has emphasised a desire to take over at the Jungle, another of his former clubs.

Brooks said: “Andy Last has put his hand up, he wants to be the man to take this club forward.

“I’m still hearing Justin Morgan being linked with the job and this afternoon I’ve also spoken to Danny Ward who confirmed that he would love the job that he has reached out for it and has expressed interest and contact the club.”
