After reports from Love Rugby League linking half-back Jayden Nikorima with a Super League move to Hull FC or Salford Red Devils, it now seems that a deal has been made.
Nikorima signed for Catalans Dragons on a huge deal from NRL side Melbourne Storm ahead of the current season, making 13 appearances for them.
However, last week, he was sacked – alongside Siua Taukeiaho and Damel Diakhate – reportedly for skipping training to go to a concert.
Hull FC had been keen to secure his signing, especially soon after Ben Reynolds’ loan deal was cut short – while Nu Brown, Tex Hoy, Franklin Pele and Jayden Okunbor’s departures mean they have three quota spots available that would have made an immediate move possible.
However, their latest reported signing seems to have made it possible for another side to pip them to his signature.

Love Rugby League’s Aaron Bower is now reporting that Salford Red Devils have signed him for the rest of the season.
Their quota spots were full but with Hull FC’s move for King Vuniyayawa on a loan deal, there’s now a spot free for the Red Devils to use on Nikorima.
This move would see him line up alongside Marc Sneyd in the halves rather than Cade Cust or Joe Mellor.
It could, in theory, be extended at some point to through the 2025 season, meaning they can have a halfback pairing used to playing with each other ahead of that campaign. That wouldn’t be the case if Cade Cust continued to play, as he’s reportedly off to Hull.
Either way, this could be a huge boost to their playoff hopes for the remainder of the season, as they battle with Nikorima’s former employers and Leeds Rhinos for the final play-off places.
