Jason Smith makes return to Hull FC for incredible charity initiative

Jason Smith is back in the UK this week, and will pull on a Black & White jersey once again on Wednesday evening as part of his All Stars clash, raising money for Life For A Kid!

The former club captain, who made 80 appearances for the Airlie Birds between 2001 and 2004, is regarded as one of the greatest overseas stars of the modern era to represent the club, and supporters will have the chance to see Smith back in Hull a series of events, including tomorrow’s game.

Smith will take part in an All-Stars match on Wednesday 29th June, with the former Australia and Queensland pulling on his boots to lead a side against Gareth Elli’s All-Stars side.

Former players including Kirk Yeaman, Danny Washbrook, Wayne Godwin, and Richie Barnett Jnr will all line up alongside Smith, his two sons, Ellis, and several other former Super League players, while several lucky supporters will also have an opportunity to line-up alongside some greats of the sport.

Taking place at the Marist Rugby Club on Cranbrook Avenue, home of Myton Warriors, the match will kick-off at 6.30pm, with entry priced at £5.00 for adults, and £2.00 for children and seniors.

The event, organised by local charity Life For A Kid, is raising money for their Sensory Centre in Hull, as well as childhood cancer.

Smith will also be Hull’s guest of honour at the club’s Betfred Super League Round 17 clash against Leeds Rhinos at the MKM Stadium on Saturday 2nd July, and will be involved in the Black and Whites’ match ball delivery ahead of kick-off alongside the club’s Armed Forces themed activities.

The following day, on Sunday 3rd July (1.30pm), supporters will come together for ‘An Afternoon With Jason Smith’ – a special dinner with Smith in attendnace.

Guests will enjoy a two-course meal at the MKM Stadium, while listening to stories from his days with the Black & Whites, as well as having the chance to having their photo with the FC legend.

The event will be hosted by former FC star Wayne Godwin – standard tickets are priced at £40, and £60 for VIP tickets.
