Jarryd Hayne and former teammate reportedly in fiery incident on streets of Parramatta

Team of the Week Jarryd Hayne

In recent times, despite a star studded career, Jarryd Hayne has cut a controversial figure in rugby league.

Currently out on bail awaiting a third sexual assault trial after his conviction was quashed in February, the fullback was reportedly in an “ugly incident outside a Parramatta hotel” 2am Sunday morning with former teammate Nathan Brown.

This is according to The Daily Telegraph and Fox League down under who stated that the duo were outside the Albion Hotel in Parramatta when they got into a fiery exchange with a road worker after he made a comment about the former Eels fullback who spent 9 months in prison when he was found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman in 2018.

On the incident, an Eels source has been reported as saying: “There was definitely no physical violence. Jarryd got hassled by a road worker and Nathan stood up for his mate.”

Nathan Brown played reserve grade over the weekend as Parramatta’s first team defeated Gold Coast 32-28 in their season opener. If he wants to get back into the side, avoiding such controversy is paramount however NSW Police have stated there are no reports of the incident.
