Former Super League back rower Jansin Turgut has shared a video showing his remarkable progress just 10 months after he suffered life-threatening fall at Ibiza Airport.
The 24-year-old sustained several broken bones in his face, hips, legs and arms after falling from the airport’s three-storey car park and was in theatre for 10 hours as doctors worked to repair his injuries.
He revealed back in January in an interview with ITV how he had suffered with mental health struggles and that the fall was an attempt to take his own life.
12 months on from the incident, however, Turgut is now turning his life around and is well on the road to recovery.
He’s been training from home during lockdown and on Thursday afternoon shared a video on Twitter of him exercising and looking in excellent shape.
He captioned this video: “Did not think I’d be doing this 10 months ago.”
Severl players of past and present, including Mahe Fonua and Iafeta Palea’aesina, expressed their delight at the footage.
