Jamie Peacock believes Leeds Rhinos rebuild could take a decade

Leeds Rhinos have been in a bit of a pickle in the recent year.
After reaching the Super League semi-final play-offs in 2021, head coach Richard Agar stepped down from his role earlier this year with Jamie Jones-Buchanan taking over on an interim basis.
Since then, Rohan Smith has been appointed as the new boss with his first game in charge ending in a 23-8 defeat to Salford Red Devils before overcoming Wakefield Trinity last week.
For Leeds legend Jamie Peacock, however, it will not be a quick fix at Headingley.
“I think building culture takes time,” Peacock said on the Out Of Your League podcastI.
“It’s not a one week, two week, one month or three month thing.
“After three months you can start to do it, but then you’ve got to get your recruitment right and that can take, in a salary cap sport, one, two or three years.
“I think they are on the right path and the younger players they have got coming through are good.
“He needs time to be able to get his stamp on the club and hopefully he can begin to build and develop a culture.
“I think it is a ten-year time span to replace a golden generation.”
Leeds’ next Super League fixture sees them take on Warrington Wolves.
