It was another defeat for Castleford Tigers last night after they got back to winning ways last week against rivals Wakefield Trinity.

That win even more important now due to this loss which leaves them four points clear of bottom place.

Speaking after the game, Jamie Jones-Buchanan said the Tigers looked “really odd.”

He said on Sky Sports: “There were opportunities when they looked really odd and couldn’t quite do the basics right tonight but they have a team spirit.”

He then went on to say they aren’t athletic enough:

“Andy Last talked about energy after the game and about a lack of energy leading to errors and fatigue can make you make mistakes.

“To me, they don’t look athletic enough apart from Greg Eden, they don’t look electric to me.

“They also have to concentrate better.”

Furthermore, he also suggested that right now their ceiling is no more than a seven out of 10:

“You can turn up and perform to your very best but if your ceiling is seven out of 10 and that is as high as you can go, there is a lot of progression for Cas.”

The Tigers lost thanks to tries from Brodie Croft, who was recovering from an illness, and Shane Wright which came after Greg Eden opened the scoring.

A late Marc Sneyd penalty secured a 14-6 win against his former side.
