Jamie Jones-Buchanan says clubs need to copy this Super League side to grow the game

Jamie Jones-Buchanan has praised the atmosphere built at Leigh to start the season in 2023.

Speaking about growing the game, the former Leeds Rhinos star suggested that what Leigh serve up is a blueprint for the game moving forward.

He said:

“When we talk about growing the game, I think about events like here today at Leigh and what we had yesterday on Good Friday.

“Sometimes I think we don’t need to do much to grow the game we just have to be better at what we have already got and yesterday and today shows that especially here at Leigh they are party animals.”

Brian Carney then added:

“It really is music city here at Leigh. It is sold out and the pre-match entertainment was brilliant, we hope it continues.”

Buchanan also praised Salford Red Devils’ spine saying it is the best in the league:

“It’s the best in the league for me and built in the image of Paul Rowley.

“It has been building throughout last year and peaked at the end of 2022 so now it is all about keeping those guys fit and on the field.

“As we have seen in the past we have seen that they aren’t as potent like without Andy Ackers last week.”
