Wakefield Trinity have lost the opening nine games to start the Super League season and face Wigan Warriors on Sunday who could go top of the league with a win.
Trinity have been nilled five times already this season and have failed to score more than one try in seven of their nine games this season.
There have been suggestions that they could go the season without a win but on Sky Sports Jamie Jones-Buchanan said that wouldn’t be the case:
“Wakefield will get some results I am sure. They will have their say this year and so Wigan have to be professional about it but what an opportunity it is for Wigan to go top of that ladder.”
Meanwhile, Wigan star Bevan French looked ahead to the game:
“We have an opportunity to go top but it is a tough one for us.
“You are expected to sort of run away with these games. They have been off to a poor start but we have had a tough month with a lot of high intensity games and our biggest threat, I guess, is ourselves thinking it might be a walk over game.
“I know in the past when Wakefield have showed up against us when they weren’t expected to.
“We are looking forward to it but we have not talked about whether we will be top of the ladder. I think we are more focused on building on performances.”
