Leeds Rhinos legend Jamie Jones-Buchanan has named is “win of the year” so far.

This came on Sky Sports as Buchanan said that Catalans Dragons’ win over Wigan Warriors last week was the best of the season due to injuries, a yellow card and of course the snow.

He said:

“That for me is the win of the year, I know we’re only in Round Four but they had to travel, they had no fans, they lost Chan, Laguerre to injuries, they had a sin bin, they were missing eight first teamers who were in the stands and it is miserable weather.

“They had every excuse in the book to roll over but they didn’t and they deserve massive credit.”

That said, he did caution against writing off Wigan at this stage of the season:

“That would be daft to write them off. They are a good team, there is no doubt about that and they will come back firing.

“There is a lot of eggs in that basket so if you can deal with them especially in weather like this, then you have a good chance of beating them.

“Catalans have perhaps given you the formula for beating Wigan but Wigan are a good side.”
