James Graham reveals unusual current career path

James Graham will go down in history on both sides of the hemisphere for being one of the most passionate and driven rugby league sportsmen in recent times.

Never one to take a backwards step, the flame-haired enforcer earned himself a long-lasting reputation in both Super League and the NRL that has still continued today – despite it being over a year since Graham retired.

Now, the 36-year-old has spoken about how he is currently making a living in Australia following his retirement in 2020.

“I’m doing a little bit of stuff with the pathways and partnerships with St George Illawarra,” Graham told the Physio Spill.

“It’s a bit up in the air there at the moment with COVID-19 and lockdown so I’m not doing too much – they are all in a bubble which I’m not part of.

“I’m doing a bit with Fox Sports and doing some punditry there, but of course that is seasonal.”

Graham, however, has also taken a position that perhaps few will have predicted.

“I’ve also been doing a role in classic sportswear which is an apparel company in Australia.

“They are a well-known brand over here and want to come into the UK market.

“They’ve got a strategy around that and they’re using me to get into that with my network and connections.

Graham played 224 games for St Helens between 2003 and 2011 and added another 12 appearances in the 2020 Super League season.

Of course, the Merseysider also played almost 200 NRL appearances for both the Canterbury Bulldogs and St George Illawarra Dragons.
