James Ford responds to Castleford speculation

With Daryl Powell on his way out at Castleford after eight-and-a-half years at the club, rumours have been circling about who will be the next Tigers boss.

One of those included in the speculation has been current York head coach James Ford, who has held the City Knights’ reins since 2015. The York Press, however, has revealed that Ford will be going nowhere.

He said: “I’ve got a job to do at York. I’ve got a good squad at York, great facilities, and I’m really committed to doing the best I possibly can for York.”

Chairman Jon Flatman has also told BBC Radio 5 Live that he has had no approach from the Tigers. “The situation is that I’ve not had any contact from Castleford, as I hadn’t previously had any contact from any Super League club that had lost their coach.”
