James Bond’s Daniel Craig gives honest assessment of rugby league

It was boxing’s Tony Bellew that gave his honest assessment of rugby league on Friday when St Helens put Leeds Rhinos to the sword in the semi-final of the Super League play-offs.

Now it’s the one and only James Bond, Daniel Craig, who has had his say on the contact sport.

Craig, 53, said, when asked if he would ever consider playing ‘proper rugby’ by the Last Leg’s and Warrington Wolves’ PDRL champion Adam Hills, said “no because it hurts too much.”

Craig continued: “I think I’m terrible at it, but rugby league scares me too much.” – coming from a man who has done just about everything on screen as Bond is a revelation in itself.

The Bond hero, who has played the character since 2006 in his Casino Royale introduction, will be starring in his last Bond premiere this year in No Time To Die.
