James Bentley taunts Wigan

There certainly was no love lost between St Helens and Wigan on Friday night as they knocked seven bells out of each other in a traditionally-fierce rivalry on the field.

But, off the field too, both sides have been giving as good as they get in terms of ‘banter’, with John Bateman taunting St Helens and James Bentley on Twitter.

Bentley himself posted an image on his Instagram account, showing him smiling at Wigan star Jackson Hastings after an incident in the game.

The caption reads: “Enjoyed that one last night what a derby!! Great to see @saints1890 out in full force 🙌🏼.”

Saints ended up beating Wigan convincingly – 26-2 – with Bentley being targeted by a number of supporters for his continuous fracas with the Warriors’ Willie Isa as both ended up being sent to the sinbin.
