Jamaican international Jacob Ogden has been released by York City Knights one year prior to his contract ending.

The centre had signed for York prior to the 2022 season and made 13 appearances for the Championship side.

He previously played for London Broncos, but had loan spells with London Skolars, Coventry Bears and Sheffield Eagles.

In a statement published on their site, York RLFC commented: “York RLFC can today confirm that Knights centre Jacob Ogden has been granted a release from the final year of his contract and has left the club.

“Everyone at York RLFC would like to wish Jacob well for the future and thank him for his efforts during his time with the club.”

Ogden was a member of the 2021 Jamaican World Cup squad and has represented the Reggae Warriors on six occasions.
