Wigan Warriors’ main two signings of 2023 were centres as they look to add further attacking quality to their star-studded backline in 2023 and compliment the attacking prowess of current stars Jai Field, Bevan French and Liam Marshall.
They signed Toby King from Warrington Wolves and Jake Wardle from Huddersfield Giants after the two had been part of a loan swap deal which saw Wardle play for Warrington and King for Huddersfield at the end of last year.
Now they both head to Wigan with Wardle signing a three year deal securing his future.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he revealed that he was grateful for the move as it settles his future.
He also explained how he was gracious to have such a big club interested in him.
He said: “The back end of the year when I went on loan, my future was a bit up in the air.
“To finally get a three-year deal over the line was massive for me. It settled everything down and I can look forward to playing rugby again next year.
“It was unbelievable. The club speaks for itself with the success it has had, so to want me as a player and as a person, it’s something I’m very grateful for.”
