Jake Trueman slams ’embarrassing’ decision

Castleford Tigers halfback Jake Trueman has slammed the persistence of referees in awarding yellow cards.

Another yellow card was handed out in Featherstone Rovers’ game against Halifax Panthers in the semi-final of the Championship play-offs.

This time it was Rovers’ Tom Holmes that was the recipient for a late – if soft – tackle on one of Halifax’s attackers.

Referee Robert Hicks gave Holmes ten minutes in the sinbin, with Trueman less than impressed with the result.

It follows the decision by Chris Kendall to award four yellow cards in St Helens’ semi-final victory over Leeds Rhinos last night as the RFL attempts a crackdown on late and high shots.
