Jake Mamo return date confirmed for Castleford Tigers

Jake Mamo was seen as one of the biggest signings of 2022 when the Tigers poached him from Warrington.

The former Huddersfield Giants fullback scored tries for fun in 2021 in his final year for the Wolves with only Salford’s Ken Sio scoring more four-pointers than the fullback turned centre.

A major signing for Lee Radford’s new era at Castleford, he was expected to consolidate the Tigers play-off chances in 2022 but so far this season Castleford have struggled with just one win from the opening four.

Things got off to a bad start against Salford and only got worse against Mamo’s former side Warrington as they lost 34-10. In that game, Mamo copped a head knock which would ensure he could not feature in Cas’ Round Three defeat to Hull KR or their first win against Hull FC last week.

He was included in the 21-man squad ahead of today’s game with Huddersfield but was left out of the 17 by Lee Radford leaving Mamo’s fitness again in question. However, Jenna Brooks of Sky Sports later confirmed that he would return to the side in time for the next round when Castleford take on Wigan at the DW Stadium.
