Jake Friend’s fitness to be revealed last minute

Sydney Roosters hooker Jake Friend suffered a broken arm in July and hasn’t returned since.

The hooker was rumoured to return in August, however a post surgery infection prevented this from happening.

There are now rumblings though, that Friend is fit to play in Sunday’s NRL Grand Final, however Sydney Roosters head coach Trent Robinson, whilst knowing the answer, is keeping his cards close to his chest.

Fox League reporter James Hooper stated that Friend’s situation is a “… need to know basis and we (the media/public) don’t …” on Fox League’s the Late Show with Matty Johns.

Even if the 29 year old is fit, many are questioning whether or not he should play.

The Queenslander has proven injury prone in 2019 and young Sam Verrills has impressed in the position, not to mention the Roosters would have to alter their game plan from the past few weeks to re-accomodate Friend.
