Jake Connor makes massive claim about Huddersfield Giants squad and what they can achieve in 2023

Jake Connor is back at Huddersfield Giants in 2023.

Connor is back at the John Smith’s Stadium after leaving the Giants in 2016 and spending time with Hull FC as a star player winning the Challenge Cup Final in his first season at the club.

That was a great season for Hull FC, and now in his first season back at the Giants, Connor is expecting big things from Ian Watson’s men.

He made a bold statement about the calibre of the Giants squad and what they can achieve at a fan event last week.

He said:

“I think it’s going to be a good year. We’ve made some good signings, some exciting signings we just need that time on the training fields to make sure it all gels.

“I think we have a great squad going into this year. Probably if you look across the league, it’s probably the best squad when you actually look at it so I think we’ve got a real chance this year.”

Connor will take on the number one shirt in 2023 as Will Pryce returns to the number 32 shirt ahead of his move to Newcastle Knights in the NRL in 2024.

That said, Tui Lolohea, who will again wear number six, is reportedly Watson’s first choice fullback.
