Jake Connor is arguably one of Super League’s greatest talents of recent years.
After registering 22 try assists already in 2022, NRL interest has come in thick and fast for the maverick fullback.
But, Hull FC head coach Brett Hodgson has revealed that it’s not just Connor that NRL sides are interested in, but others in his side.
“Yes I am aware (that NRL clubs are interested in Connor) and I’m not surprised – he’s a talent,” Hodgson told theĀ Yorkshire Post.
“But there’s nothing concrete in that at this stage. Should that change then we’ll have a chat about that.
“It’s speculation more than anything at the moment. If or when that comes, we’ll discuss what the options are.”
Hodgson also believes that Connor’s profile means he is being talked about a lot more.
“He’s not the only one there are conversations about. He’s obviously the one with the biggest profile, I would think.
“But there’s been other people that have been looked and there’s been some conversations about them as well.”
Connor will be sidelined for ten to twelve weeks with a medial ligament injury sustained in last Sundayās defeat to Wakefield Trinity.
Connor left the field with the injury midway through the second-half, and didnāt return to the action.
Speaking on the injury, Hull FC head coach Brett Hodgson said: : āJake has sustained a grade two medial ligament strain, which is going to leave him sidelined for up to three months.
āThankfully the injury doesnāt require surgery, so Jake will begin his rehab immediately.
āWeāre thankful that heāll potentially get the chance to feature again at the back end of the season for us.ā
Injury to Connor opens up an opportunity to fellow full-back Jamie Shaul, who is expected to fill the void left by his teammate in the coming weeks.
āJamie has got the opportunity now to step forward and show the class he possesses,ā Hodgson added.
āHe, and the other players around him, have got the quality to help us move forward and continue progressing as a group over the coming months.ā
