Half-back Jake Arthur is one of 12 Hull FC players who will leave the club at the end of the season.
Arthur only joined the Black and Whites at the beginning of the season, and has made 22 appearances so far. The club, in a statement revealing their released list, say that he will “head for pastures new in 2027.”
There are strong rumours linking him to Huddersfield Giants for next season, with Jim Lenihan not yet finalising his halves pairing for next season.
Lenihan told the press yesterday that the 23-year-old was on the club’s radar, but nothing had progressed in terms of an deal.
Some players already confirmed to be departing make up the nine, with Davy Litten and Amir Bourouh included.
Litten will join Wakefield Trinity for 2027, whilst Amir Bourouh will move to Perpignan to link up with the Huddersfield Giants.
Tom Briscoe announced his retirement from the sport yesterday, pulling the curtain down on a 19-year career. He is another to be listed.
Of the players who remained out of contract, Hull FC say goodbye to Brad Fash, one of the club’s longest-serving players.
Making his debut 12 years ago, Fash celebrated a testimonial this year, but departs the MKM Stadium at the end of the campaign.
Ligi Sao, who will turn 34 in October, is part of the releases, as is fellow prop Hugo Salabio.
Sao joined the Black and Whites six years ago, and has made 118 appearances to date. He is FC’s fifth-highest overseas appearance maker in the summer era.
Salabio has enjoyed a two-season spell with FC after arriving in 2025, with the Frenchman making 17 appearances for the club.
Also among the releases are youngsters Ben Johnson and Roman Dawson, whilst reserves pair Elliot Middlemas and Jon Turner depart the club.
The club also provided clarity on back rower Jed Cartwright, saying he will not return following his loan spell at St Helens.
Young forward Lennon Clark has sined a one-year deal, keeping him at the club for 2027.
