Jai Field scores incredible hat-trick for Wigan Warriors in demolition of Leeds Rhinos

Wigan Warriors absolutely destroyed Leeds Rhinos tonight

Field had a torrid 2021 Super League season, restricted to minimal game time after suffering a horrendous hamstring injury, but he has come back with a bang in 2022.

The livewire fullback stunned audiences in last week’s victory over Hull KR with an opportunist try from a scrum, but wow did he have an impact in Wigan’s demolition over their West Yorkshire rivals.

Field only played a bit-part role in the NRL for the St George Illawarra Dragons and Parramatta Eels in his time at the NRL.

He debuted for the Dragons back in 2017, registering 11 appearances over a period of three seasons before moving to the Eels for the 2020 season.

At Parramatta, Field made six appearances but was snapped up by Wigan to play in the Cherry and White ahead of the 2021.

He’s certainly made an impression in 2022, scoring four tries in the past two games – and fans certainly agreed.

Even Catalans Dragons fullback Sam Tomkins had a great word to say about Field: “Looks like that hamstring surgery has slowed down Jai Field.”

Former Huddersfield Giants and England great Eorl Crabtree was also waxing lyrical about Field, stating: “Jai Field – can shift a bit.”
