Jackson Hastings’ astonishing wage reportedly revealed

Jackson Hastings

Jackson Hastings is a special player.

We saw that in his days in Super League. The halfback joined Salford in 2018 and saved them from relegation before guiding them to an unlikely Grand Final in 2019 as they defied the odds going from second favourites for relegation to the Theatre of Dreams after finishing third.

Hastings also claimed the Man of Steel before joining Wigan Warriors in 2020 guiding them to the League Leaders’ Shield and the Grand Final where he was a bounce of the ball away from potentially becoming a Super League Champions.

After 2021 he left Wigan for Wests Tigers and showed his value in a struggling side and joined Newcastle Knights at the start of this season and has been very impressive since.

He has been having a terrific season at Newcastle this season.

His wage has now been revealed by the Daily Telegraph in their NRL rich list.

According to them, Hastings is on $600,000.

They said: “A surprise pick-up for the Knights at the start of this year when David Klemmer went the other way. Has two years to run on his deal. Works hard, boasts momentary touches of class, but still a long way behind the elite-level halves.”

This would make it very difficult for any Super League side to ever tempt him back over to the UK.

There has been a surprising rumour emerging on social media.

The Mole of Wide World of Sports reported this week that there had been a bust up between a coach and a player at an NRL club and for some reason the notion that this was Hastings and Newcastle coach Adam O’Brien gained traction.

Now Newcastle Herald writer Barry Toohey has set the record straight.

He took to twitter to confirm that there had been no blow up between Hastings and O’Brien.

Hastings has been open lately about wanting to re-introduce his brilliant running game into his performances something we saw a lot of in Super League.
