Jack Walker is the youngest Super League Champion in the competition’s history having helped Leeds Rhinos to Grand Final glory in 2017 having only just turned 18.

Back then he had the world at his feet but three injury hit years from 2020-22 saw his career somewhat stall prompting a move to Bradford Bulls in the Championship in the hope that it could rekindle his career.

In pre-season it looked like doing so but five minutes into his competitive debut against Whitehaven, Walker was forced off with a leg injury.

Speaking on Viaplay Sport last night as the Bulls lost to York, Walker opened up on the injury promising to be back “as soon as possible.”

He said: “It was a one tough to take to start off with. It was hard to process after a tough pre-season. I feel like all that hard work has gone to a bit of a waste.

“But I feel like I’ve accepted it now and that I’m ready to get on the grind again and hopefully I’m back as soon as possible.”

This came after coach Mark Dunning spoke to Bulls TV prior to the game about Walker’s set back:

“I’m gutted for the kid, he’s had some bad luck as you know.

“He’s never been as fit or felt as fit, but five minutes in last week we lose him to an injury.

“We’ll put our arm around him and really support him, making sure he’s well mentally and physically as well.”
