Jack Walker in talks to join club as ex-Hull FC man provides update

Hull FC Jack Walker

Ex-Hull FC man Jack Walker has revealed he is on the verge of signing for a new club. The full-back has been a free agent since being released by the Black and Whites at the start of pre-season.

Walker was one of three players released by Hull in November with Morgan Smith and Liam Tindall also leaving the MKM Stadium. Tindall has spent time training with Bradford Bulls over pre-season but Smith is the only one of the trio to find a new club so far having penned a deal with Sheffield Eagles.

Speaking in an interview with Serious About RL, Walker admitted Leeds Rhinos showed some interest in him shortly after his release, while he had conversations with other clubs but a deal never emerged. However, with pre-season almost over and the season now just around the corner, Walker appears close to signing a new deal.

The 25-year-old revealed as much in a YouTube vlog posted earlier this week. In the vlog, Walker films himself on the way to meet with a club. He then explains how the meeting went before adding later in the video that he is extremely close to signing.

“Just finished with him and it went well actually so potentially I might have a club so I’m buzzing about that,” Walker said in the video about the meeting.

Who Walker was meeting with is unknown, but the full-back will be keen to get something over the line before too long having spent two and a half months training by on his own.

Walker has dropped out of Super League before, having spent a period of time at Bradford Bulls during the 2023 season prior to his move to Hull KR. He has made 112 appearances over the course of his career with the lion’s share of them coming in the colours of Leeds, where he started his career.
