Jack Broadbent opens up on return to action

Jack Broadbent capped his return to action with Leeds with a try as the Rhinos overcame a stubborn Hull FC side, 25-24 at the Magic Weekend.

Broadbent had been out since early July with a serious foot injury. The initial diagnosis was 12 weeks, but the utility back shaved over three weeks off that target to take to the field at St James’ Park.

There was much delight from Broadbent when he returned and scored in the 72nd minute which eventually led the fixture into extra-time.

That win left Leeds safely inside the top six in fifth place with just a fortnight left of the regular season as Hull FC languish outside the play-offs.
