International winger Paul Ulberg makes Championship switch despite interest from big clubs

London Broncos have signed Cook Islands international Paul Ulberg.

The player joins the Broncos having most recently played for the the Norths Devils in the Intrust Super Cup and was on the radar of several other clubs in the UK before choosing to ply his trade in the capital next year.

Ulberg, who was named in the 2019 World 9s ‘Team of the Tournament’ alongside players such as David Fifita and Shaun Johnson and he arrives subject to visa approval.

Originally from New Zealand, Ulberg also made two appearances for the Cook Islands in 2019 including a hat-trick in the demolition of South Africa and will bring plenty to the Broncos squad ahead of the 2022 Betfred Championship season.

Ulberg becomes the latest signing for Head Coach Jermaine Coleman, following in the footsteps of Will Ramsey and Ronny Palumbo as London attempt to rebuild following a disappointing campaign in 2021.

The Championship itself will be even more competitive in 2022 with the likes of Featherstone Rovers, Bradford Bulls, York City Knights, Leigh Centurions and Halifax Panthers all recruiting well.
