Interesting twist in Callum McLelland’s future

Callum McLelland has yet to sign a new deal with Leeds Rhinos, with Castleford Tigers set to be circling.

Yet, with the Leeds club posting emotional goodbyes on its Instagram page to Rob Lui, Konrad Hurrell, King Vuniyayawa and Alex Sutcliffe, McLelland’s name was mysteriously missing.

With Rhinos head coach Richard Agar confirming that Leeds had offered the halfback a new contract in August, things have seemingly gone quiet since then with neither Leeds nor Castleford releasing any news on the former Tigers academy product.

That has almost left the rumour mill to go cold on the subject, but Leeds fans in particular noticed that McLelland has been left off of the departure list, despite it looking increasingly likely that he will not be at Headingley in 2022.
