Interest from other Super League clubs in Wakefield Trinity signing confirmed by French publication as they react to move

Yesterday, Wakefield Trinity confirmed the signing of Catalans Dragons centre Samisoni Langi on a two year deal from 2022 onwards.

The move came after he rejected a switch to Trinity in 2021 to stay with the then league leaders.

The French media have naturally reacted to the news confirming that other Super League clubs were interested in the centre.

They also revealed that Elite One Championship sides had also expressed an interest: the current home to star names such as James Maloney, Corey Norman and former Wigan Warriors man Morgan Escare.

This comes from publication Treize Monidal who reported: “Without a club since leaving the Catalans Dragons, Samisoni Langi had received offers from Elite 1 and English Super League clubs.

“The France international has finally signed with Wakefield. Already in 2021, he had signed with Trinity before backtracking to extend the fun one more season with the Catalans Dragons.

“It is a two-year contract that awaits the 29-year-old centre at Wakefield and he is therefore committed to his new club until the end of 2024.”

L’Independent had already reported that new signing Adam Keighran was Langi’s replacement who joins the club from the Sydney Roosters following plenty of former Roosters to the club such as Maloney, Mitchell Pearce and of course Dylan Napa who they are trying to move on reportedly.
